Number Two Piggeries, Chalala Pig Farms, Malmesbury

One of Africa's Largest Pig Farming Developments

LEMCO was appointed to design, fabricate, supply, and erect the structural steel for Number Two Piggeries, Chalala Pig Farms, located just outside Malmesbury in the Western Cape. Recognised as one of the largest and most successful pig farming operations in Africa, the development showcases LEMCO's ability to deliver large-scale structural steel solutions for specialised agricultural facilities.

Construction was completed in two major phases:

• Phase 1 (2011): 55,000 m²
• Phase 2 (2014): 71,000 m²

Together, the project spans more than 126,000 m² of steel construction.

The successful delivery of this project was supported by LEMCO's advanced fabrication facilities, equipped with some of the most sophisticated steel processing technology in the industry. This capability enabled the precise manufacture of the structural steel components required for Chalala's high-tech pig farming operation.
